For the past three years, Gastroenterology Professional Association has provided free colonoscopies for uninsured patients from Families First and other medical practices in the Seacoast area. Over 85 patients have been screened and received appropriate followup. The feedback from patients is extremely positive. They are given expert care and treated warmly and respectfully by all of the staff involved. They understand the benefit of screenings for colon cancer. Many have a family history and are advised to have screenings more frequently. Our patients view it as a positive experience and appreciate the opportunity to receive a health screening that they are not able to afford.

All the staff and doctors were very nice to me. I do not have insurance so it really saved me a lot of money. I did not feel any pain. My father and grandfather died from colon cancer. I know I have to have more frequent procedures and am grateful to have this available for me.
It was a relief to have the colonoscopy done and know everything was ok. I was treated very well by everyone. The staff was amazing and relaxed me so I never worried. It would have been impossible for me to afford on my own. Thank you.

I had been living with Crohn’s Disease for thirteen years prior and had recently undergone three bowel surgeries in one year. I was looking for answers and a way to get my disease under control. My doctor worked with me extensively to find the correct course of treatment that would work for me and my active lifestyle.
Our doctor listens and answers all our questions, and is sensitive to our needs. We completely trust and respect his advice and recommendations. He has a great bedside manner and a good sense of humor which puts us at ease during visits.

We are very pleased with the medical care our doctor has provided. He is a caring and skilled physician, and his help prior to and following my liver transplant was excellent. The office staff is very considerate and also very helpful to answer any questions.
Since we have lived in many cities, I have been treated in many hospitals and doctors’ offices over the years. Nowhere have I found physicians as concerned for their patients or as caring in their approach as at the Gastroenterology Professional Association in Portsmouth. It is clear from the first visit that this group really does care for the health and well-being of its patients.
