Outpatient Liver Biopsy

CT Guided LIVER BIOPSY

You are required to have lab work drawn within one (1) week prior to your procedural appointment.
If you have not obtained the required lab work two (2) business days prior to your procedure, the procedure will be cancelled.
You will be at the hospital three-four (3-4) hours.
No food or drink after MIDNIGHT

□ Frisbie Memorial Hospital Patients - report to the radiology department

□ Wentworth Douglass Hospital Patients – report to patient registration

□ Portsmouth Regional Hospital Patients – report to outpatient department

Hospital policy requires transportation must be provided by a responsible person after your procedure.

Failure to comply may result in the cancellation of your procedure.

Stop all aspirin or non-steroidal and anti-inflammatory medication for two (2) days prior to the procedure unless otherwise specified by your physician.

(ie: Advil, Ibuprofen, Nuprin)

If you need pain relief, you may take all regular non-aspirin medications as usual the day before the procedure. Tylenol is the preferred brand.
If on Plavix or Coumadin and blood thinning medications, please adjust as follows:______________________________________________________
If on arthritis medication or any new medications, check with physician for specific instructions.
No strenuous or heavy lifting for three (3) days after your procedure.
